Minutes ago, my student told me she was accepted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) today. I can barely control my excitement, and I’m sure she feels just as, if not more, ecstatic!
This news comes after many months of college application preparation and guidance from Milestone College Consulting, run by yours truly.
This student is applying to other top-notch schools under my guidance, including Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and Stanford (unless, of course, she’s dead set on attending MIT and thinks it’s wholly unnecessary to apply to other schools!). We shall see what those world-class schools think of this student!
According to the latest statistics in the Common Data Set, MIT’s overall first-year acceptance rate was less than 4% last year, with 1,337 admitted students out of 33,767 applicants. The acceptance rate for men was 3.1% (661 admitted men out of 21,588 male applicants). The acceptance rate for women was 5.6% (676 admitted women out of 12,179 applicants).
Because I have not asked this student for permission to reveal her identity yet, she will remain completely anonymous for now. We will see how much information she wants to share about herself in the next few months, so stay tuned for further updates!
