For today’s Wordle, this rare vocabulary word is one of our favorites. It is at once erudite and suggestive, serious and irreverent, and sophisticated and historically lowbrow. “Having beautiful buttocks” is the definition. If you know the word already, the answer should be obvious.

This word evokes scenes from Deat Poets Society. Imagine a man of letters at a fancy all-male private school in 1959 in New England. He’s wearing tortoiseshell glasses, suit and tie, and Oxford brogues, looking like he came straight out of a Brooks Brothers catalog. A teenage pupil utters something provocative, and the class snickers. “The proper word is c———-,” the instructor responds with a subtle smile. A so-called “dark academia” vibe is what we’re going for.
